I have been a student at Nujum Institute for just over two years. During this time, I completed the Tajweed course and have continued to refine my recitation with Ustadh Muhammad. Alhamdulillah, the improvement I have seen in my recitation has been immense.

This course, by Allah's bounty, grace and permission, is a means of lifting ignorance from one's self. It connects you with the Book of Allah (The Exalted): the place of exit of the letters, their characteristics, how the sound of a vowel moves and the stillness of a sakin, the stretching and the differing lengths, what to make clear, what to combine, what to change and what to conceal, what is full mouth and what is empty mouth, when to stop and even what is miscellaneous.

The lessons of theory are loaded with beneficial knowledge and the recitation (practical) lessons enable one to distinguish what is correct and incorrect, to hear what they previously were oblivious to and to know how to implement what was once an enigma to them.

One builds their connection with and appreciates the Book of Allah by virtue of it being a shifa and an intercessor in a manner they didn't previously. Truly the recitation lessons are an evidence upon me to have humility as it reminds me that I have much to learn, implement and traverse.

Ustadh is strict but fair, encouraging but kind and gives time to students to ask questions and learn.
